ミルコは2011年の試作から量産まで4年の月日をかけて開発したオーガニックスタイルのコーヒーミルです。ケヤキやウォールナットといった天然木をつかって、職人による高精細な加工を施すことで、オーガニックな見立てにもかかわらず、各パーツの段差も極小の加工精度のプロダクトを実現しています。白や黒のホーローと木のコンビネーションも一品一品サイズが異なるホーローのカップを木の職人が丁寧にサイズをあわせて製作をしています。
これまで、ハンディ型のコーヒーミルはステンレスのクールな質感のものやプラスチックのカジュアルなデザインのものしかありませんでした。サードウェーブコーヒーの台頭により、より趣味性の高い、そしてシングルオリジンの農園から届く極上のコーヒーにあうミルが求められてきました。オーガニックな素材による製品は、サードウェーブコーヒーのストーリーとも好相性なのです。
香りの高いコーヒーは機械で挽いてしまうと、風味がそこなわれてしまうこともあります。手挽きでゆっくりと挽くことでより深いい香りが引き出されます。そして、より手に馴染む木やホーローの素材のミルはコーヒーをつくる気分を高めてくれます。
Milco is a brand of coffee which allows you to make your own coffee wherever and whenever you want. Its small size and ease of use gives you the opportunity to enjoy an intense flavored handmade coffee. The ceramic grinder enables one to keep the authentic flavor of the coffee bean without altering it. It also offers a multiple choice of grind size, whether you like it thinner or thicker, you will have the option to choose. Milco’s handle can be removed and placed in the mill to make it more compact and easy to carry. So you can take it on your trip or during your outdoor leisure time. Milco exists in two sizes: The Solo Mill 100g for one person and the Double Mill 200g for two persons. Three different designs are available: the stainless-steel mat combined with wood, the all wood one, and the enameled-white metal combined with wood.
