ANCOUは静岡に伝わる竹細工のブランドです。300年以上の歴史のある駿河千筋細工は、地元の竹を使い、平らな竹を使う他の地域に対し、独特な技術で竹から丸ひごを製作し製品にしています。江戸時
代には虫かごで人気を博し、現代では照明から小物にいたるまで日用品をつくっています。1873年にはウィーンで開かれた博覧会に出展し、高い人気を呼び多くの竹製品が海外に輸出されるきっかけになりました。工場は国からは駿河千筋細工として2017年に伝統工芸品の指定をうけています。ブランドは静岡の地元の管理された竹を素材に手作業による丸竹ひご製作から始まり製品を職人が一品一品作っています。小さな虫のアクセサリーから小物コンテナー、キャンドルホルダー、照明器具など多くのジャンルにわたる日常生活品を、古くからの伝統を守りながら現代の生活にマッチした製品を作り続けています。
ANCOU is a brand of traditional bamboo handicrafts from Shizuoka, Japan. Miyabi Andon, with a history of over 300 years, uses local bamboo and a unique technique to produce round bamboo strips from bamboo, in contrast to other regions where flat bamboo is used. In the Edo period (1603 – 1868), it gained popularity for its insect cages, and in modern times, it makes everyday items ranging from lighting to accessories. In 1873, bamboo products were exhibited at an exposition in Vienna, where they became very popular and led to the export of many bamboo products overseas. The factory was designated by the government as a traditional craft in 2017. Craftsmen make each product by hand using locally managed bamboo from Shizuoka, starting with the handcrafting of round bamboo strips. ANCOU products include a wide range of everyday products from small containers to candle holders, pendant and flooring lighting fixtures, and many other genres that match modern life while preserving the ancient traditions of the past.
